    LCS 2005 SP1 Update re-released

There's a bundle of fixes to LCS 2005 SP1 that have recently been re-released which you can find here. The docs have got a few bugs (like referring to the wrong filename of the download) so watch out... although these may have been fixed by the time you read this.

Also, if you're running Enterprise Edition and you have to run the installer on the SQL machine itself (which I thought was a bit bizzare, why not connect over ODBC like LCS) which the docs refer to as the "backend" server.

I've run it on two EE FE's and an EE BE at a client site and it worked without issues. One thing to watch though if you are running Symantec IM Manager you have to restart the service manually, the installer restarts the LCS ones for you.

    Re: LCS 2005 SP1 Update re-released

I've to do compare DLLs but I believe this is the same as the previous 911966 expect it has now been issued in a number of locales. This is an important patch and is strongly recommended. However, there are a few gotchas along the way. I'd recommend reading the KB article and the KB articles it refers to so you fully understand the patch and how to deploy it. If you run against a clustered SQL BE and hit problems post a reply or ping me an email or PM and I'll dig some info out on how to fix - not immediately to hand.
